Moody's serves freshly prepared and tasty Middle Eastern standards: falafel, hummus, baba ghanoush (featuring tangy pomegranate seeds), tabouli, schwarma, various kababs (including the always tempting salmon skewers that sit in the window of the display fridge), and so forth.
Established in 1979, India Pavilion bills itself as the first Indian Restaurant in Cambridge. They offer a wide selection with variations on standards (E.g. pakoras containing cheese, vegetables, chicken or fish). The fare is vegetarian-friendly, while also offering chicken, lamb, seafood and beef dishes. They cater private parties and corporate meetings and offer a daily lunch buffet from noon to 3 PM.
Inspired by the tradition of little dishes that Mario LÈon and Tamara Bourso introduced to Boston in 1989 via DalÌ Restaurant in Somerville, Tamara Bourso and business partner, Fernanda da Silva, are presenting "straight up" little international dishes whose main ingredients stand by themselves, without side dishes.
Indian restaraunt and groccer. The Shalimar Indian restaurant is somewhat up-scale and across the street from the groccer, which has a small, cheap Indian food deli counter tucked away in the back.
A Central Square staple. The windows of Pu Pu Hot Pot open onto the square, allowing you to watch passersby run across the street while you dine on simple Chinese fare. Never a bad idea!
